Pat McLoughlin is a stalwart of the Australian tourism marine sector, a Marine Master ≤45M (Captain to 45m) and a Marine Engine Driver Grade 2. He has worked for over 30 years within the commercial Maritime sector, with most of this time spent managing or owning tourism-based products.

Pat began his career as a deckhand with Matilda Cruises on Sydney Harbour and very quickly identified that he wanted to Captain vessels and spend most of his time on the water. After progressing his career as a Captain, he branched out into marine operations. In his role as Operations Manager with Matilda Cruises, he designed, launched and managed a commuter ferry service on Sydney Harbour with tasks including vessel maintenance, crew recruitment, Government-relations, implementing ticketing systems and timetabling. In this role he co-ordinating a fleet of 17 vessels and their crew across daily operation and major events in Sydney such as New Year’s Eve cruises and Sydney Olympics events.

Many would know Pat from his decades of owning jet boating companies in Australia (including Oz Jet Boating and Bad Fishy Jet Boating) and across the globe. Pat has a history in running adventure tourism marine products with a focus on engineering, vessel builds, marine compliance, driver training, safety management and government relations and consultancy. Pat has taught at the Cairns Marine College and has been an instrumental mentor for many in the industry. He has worked extensively across the Superyacht industry from captaining these vessels to working with them as an agent and in shore support.
